Luke Humphries as expected is into the final of the inaugural edition of the Winmau World Masters defeating Danny Noppert 5-2 in the process as either Jonny Clayton or Dimitri van den Bergh await in Milton Keynes.

Albeit he didn't have it all his own way as he went two sets down with doubling issues as Noppert looked likely to continue his stunning form. But he couldn't and Humphries got stronger and stronger sealing a simple win in the end.

Noppert started superbly. He sealed the opening two sets to nil with Humphries having doubling woes so far. He had missed eight in all during the opening stanza of the match.

A mountain to climb for the defacto favourite for the title after the demise of Luke Littler earlier on. But then came the revival. Noppert missed three darts to hold and Humphries took aim at 112 but couldn't get a dart at double. But Noppert busted five and Humphries finally got on the board as he left the stage with a wry smile on his face but he was on the board at 2-1.

He soon had parity. He hit a 128 checkout to break and returned with a 180 and double eight finally to make it 2-2 in sets. Humphries missed 140 twice and the latter led to Noppert levelling up instead of claiming the set. An 87 checkout though saw him seal it. A lead for the first time for the World No.1.

He pinned double nine and double 20 for a clean sweep in set six with Noppert unable to pose any threat as Humphries suddenly was one away at 4-2.

He returned to hold on double 18 so was merely a leg away. Noppert continued to drop his average and his darts weren't flying in as they were at the start of the match. Humphries had match darts off 96 as he hit double nine for a 5-2 win.
