Michael van Gerwen and Luke Humphries faced each other for the second consecutive day on Saturday night. 'Cool Hand Luke' managed to win the encounter in Chester gaining a modicum of revenge over the Dutchman.

The Dutchman and the Englishman were booked for several exhibition tournaments this weekend. Friday night they met in York, where Van Gerwen took the win. In that match 'Mighty Mike' took a 7-1 lead and then Humphries came back to 7-5 by throwing out 141, 135 and 112, among others. Van Gerwen then stopped Humphries' comeback attempt and took the win 8-5.

At the exhibition event in Chester, the three-time world champion and the world number one played a match over best of 11 legs. Van Gerwen again took a comfortable lead and was leading 5-2 after seven legs. However, Humphries returned to 5-5 and managed to take the last leg decider to beat Van Gerwen 6-5.

The statistics were also in Humphries' favour. The former world champion averaged 100.62, threw two 180s and had an 11-darter as his best leg. Van Gerwen's best leg was in 13 arrows and he had a 95.26 average.

Van Gerwen was not the only Dutchman present in Chester, as Raymond van Barneveld was also in attendance. The five-time world champion triumphed 5-2 against Stephen Bunting.
