Luke Littler has already made a massive impression in his first full year on the PDC Pro Tour. The 17-year-old Englishman has won no fewer than 10 tournaments, including majors such as the Premier League Darts and the Grand Slam of Darts. 'The Nuke' is therefore heading to the PDC World Darts Championship as one of the absolute top favourites.

Littler surprised the darts world early this year by reaching the final of the 2024 World Darts Championship as a 16-year-old dart player non-Tour Card holder. In the final he lost out to Luke Humphries. Littler then took off like a rocket and won the Bahrain Darts Masters the same month, marking the beginning of a great first year on the PDC Pro Tour.

Meanwhile, Littler has even risen to fourth in the PDC Order of Merit. The question is, can anything stop 'The Nuke's charge towards becoming a world champion? "Not really," answers 16-time champion of the world Phil Taylor in conversation with Casino Reviews.

Littler has been standing out not only for his quality, but also for his perceived nonchalance leading up to competitions. For example, he barely warms up and doesn't really seem to pay attention to his nutrition either. "With what he is doing, some people agree with it, and some don’t in the way he chills out. Luke does his 10 or 15 minutes of practice before a game and then he is done. If it suits him then carry on because whatever he is doing is working for him," Taylor responds.

"The World Championships is going to tell us a lot," adds the 'The Power'. "He definitely has the ability [to win it] and he’s got age on his side. Luke isn’t motivated by money - he just likes winning. So he will go into the World Championships, and £500,000 for the winner won’t even enter his head."

Littler begins his World Cup on Saturday, Dec. 21. As the fourth series head, he is exempt in the first round and afterwards he will take on the winner of the duel between Fallon Sherrock and Ryan Meikle.
