Luke Littler, the current World Champion is certainly one of a crop of the next sportsmen and women who are raking it in and 'The Nuke' already at the age of just 18 is a millionaire as per figures from Companies House.
Newly filed documents from Companies House show that in 2024 alone so even before his record breaking year of 2025 thus far, he has reported £1,074,971 profit. In the UK, it is done every tax year so from April to April. Creditors are listed at £383,239 with much of that likely being cash.
For some him being a millionaire will not be a shock but the tax is the big factor as despite him sealing £500k this past year and will fight for £1million in the winter in the expanded field, a lot of that is taken away from HMRC (His Majesty's Revenue and Customs) as well as paying managers and people involved with his team.
As well as his further major success, Littler has also branched out into his own merchandise store. The Nuke Merchandise Shop which has turned into a lucrative endeavour selling replica shirts, darts, hoodies and signed photos at £200. All of which have been getting snapped up and are another revenue stream for the darting leader to milk the cow so to speak.
According to The Sun who delved into his portfolio, this is a separate entity meaning he won't get as hit with tax if it was all under one umbrella. He has also set up a property firm as he invests for the future as well as the here and now.
Albeit while that is the case, he has hit an issue as he aims to break the States. Littler has been the talk of the town when he has played in New York but for those wanting Nuke sportswear abroad, he has been refused a patent.
He filed to trademark his brand and was given a 'total refusal' albeit most of it was that the paperwork wasn't filled out properly. He failed to provide a valid email, confirm his identity, appoint someone to act on his behalf in the States and properly define it all. So in reality, it could soon change and those in the US could be gaining what he calls 'The Littler Effect'.
For a sport which has grown over the years but not to the level it has now, it shows just what effect he has on it. Phil Taylor and Michael van Gerwen even couldn't have dreamt of such a thing and while the latter made some strides into merchandise, it is not to this level.
