Luke Littler claims mental superiority in rivalry with Michael van Gerwen: "Once you get so many wins over somebody, I think you beat them near enough every time"
Luke Littler secured his fifth nightly title of the 2025 Premier League Darts season on Thursday, underlining his dominance with a 6-4 victory over Michael van Gerwen in the final on Night 13. The Nuke, continues to tighten his grip on top spot in the league standings and has already guaranteed his place in the season-ending playoffs with three regular nights still to play. As the campaign draws towards its conclusion, Littler now has the chance to push his remarkable record even further.

History was made in Birmingham as Littler became the first player ever to win five individual nights in a single Premier League season — a feat unmatched in the tournament’s storied history. With three nights of league action remaining, the 18-year-old Englishman has every opportunity to extend that benchmark and cement his place in the record books.
Thursday’s title was the latest in a string of outstanding performances from Littler, whose blend of heavy scoring, unshakable composure, and clinical finishing has set him apart in his debut Premier League campaign. His relentless form has not only secured his playoff qualification but also made him the clear player to beat as the tournament moves towards its decisive stages.
“I think for myself, once you get so many wins over somebody, I think you beat them near enough every time,” Littler said in his post-match press conference, continuing the mind games with Van Gerwen. “Obviously he gave me a really good game then but I have beaten him once again."

“Obviously it feels amazing setting records in the Premier League but it’s only my second year," added the world champion. "It’s a good thing to be clear at the top of the table and heading to The O2, just making sure you are top to get that first semi-final in.”
The Premier League Darts roadshow resumes next Thursday, as Night 14 takes place at the First Direct Arena in Leeds. Littler will open his campaign there with a quarter-final clash against Nathan Aspinall.
