Littler left Aspinall be flummoxed as he left the stage after the opening set. 'The Nuke' breezed through into a 1-0 lead with an average of 118.6 to head into the lead and it got even better.
He went into a 2-0 sets lead as he made it six legs from seven hitting 60% on the doubles and averaging 111.
Aspinall finally got a set on the board. He dug deep to seal it in a deciding leg to make it 2-1 down albeit with a big mountain still to climb which didn't get easier with Littler landing an 82 checkout for an 11-darter in the deciding leg of the fourth set to head into a 3-1 lead.
He went towards the brink breezing through the fifth set 3-1 with an 81 checkout to seal it pinning 11 maximums thus far and go 4-1 up. Littler drew level in the next set with a 13-darter as Aspinall started to run out of time and answers. Every time he was down to a finish he had to take it with Littler often breathing down his neck.
Case and point was leaving 65 and Littler hit 180 to leave 90. He didn't hit it and Littler pinned bull for 2-1. This time it was Aspinall who did the same as Littler was sat waiting for the win and 'The Asp' pinned 62 as he looked for a late revival.
Aspinall hit 70 to go 4-2 down in sets. But Littler went one away with a 101 checkout which Aspinall could only applaud. He hit 130 from 170 to leave double 20 which he hit.
