Luke Littler has starred again at the 2024
Players Championship Finals. After big wins over Rob Cross (6-0) and Ritchie Edhouse (6-2), Danny Noppert has become the next victim of 'The Nuke'. Littler once again showed his top form with an average of 105 and left Noppert defenseless 10-3.
Littler broke the Dutchman already in the first leg after a 13-darter, then made it 2-0 via an 11-darter. Noppert came back to 2-2, but again surrendered his own leg. After a 15-darter, Littler went into the break with a 3-2 lead.
In the second session the 17-year-old Englishman turned on the turbo. A 13-darter and a 15-darter made it 5-2, after which a 105 finish made it 6-2. A 12-darter and a 129 check-out followed to make it 8-2. After the second break, Noppert finally grabbed another leg before Littler produced a 13-darter for 9-3. The English prodigy then decided the match with a 17-darter. In the last eight, Littler will face Mike de Decker, who was too strong for Niels Zonneveld with a 10-4 win.
Ryan Joyce is also going to return to the last eight at the Players Championship Finals. 'Relentless' recorded a convincing 10-6 victory over Martin Schindler. The match between Ross Smith and Andrew Gilding was also uneventful. 'Smudger' only allowed opponent Andrew Gilding one leg and defeated 'Goldfinger' 10-1.
