"Luke Littler is at the same level as Phil Taylor" states Brendan Dolan but doesn't see same success

Brendan Dolan doesn't believe that Luke Humphries or Luke Littler will win as many trophies as Phil Taylor did in his illustrious career.

Phil Taylor in his whole career won 214 professional titles and 87 major titles. The 18 year old is already on 13 titles, which include, the PDC World Championship, the 2024 Premier League, the Grand Slam of Darts, the 2024 World Series of Darts Finals, and the 2025 UK Open.

The main reason why Dolan believes this will be the case is because of the competitive nature of darts these days. He goes on to speak about how there is "more competition and better players right now compared to the early 2000s". Even though Luke Littler is always in the running for the big major tournaments, you cannot write out anybody and throughout his career this will be the same. Dolan also speaks about his time playing Phil Taylor, "He's up 17-1 against me, it's not good, if I could play him now I wouldn't say i'd beaten him every time but I wouldn't have this record now," he said as per Tungsten Tales.

"I do believe Luke Littler is at the same level as Phil Taylor", but when competing against Michael Van Gerwen and Luke Humphries week in week out there will be less trophies available even when you play your best. This is also a point stated by the Northern Irishman.

A point that Dolan did not seem to mention was the amount of extra tournaments there are across the globe right now. The darts scene has become a lot more fashionable and has gained millions of extra followers, which has also brought so much more money into the sport. With this, there will be many more big competitions a year for Luke Littler to go and win. This could also be a negative for Luke Littler due to the lack of rest and the extra traveling that many players have spoken about over the last year or so including Luke Humphries who quipped: "Playing too much is not always a positive and came make you a bit emotionless".
