Luke Littler has eased into the last eight in the latest round of World Series action at the Australian Darts Masters. The teenage sensation was a comfortable 6-2 winner in the opening round.
As always with World Series of Darts events, eight of the PDC's top stars take on eight challengers from the nation the event is held. For Littler, the challenge on offer was posed by the relatively unknown and untested Rob Modra.

As it turned out however, Modra was unable to really test the recently crowned Premier League Darts champion. Although both only averaged just over 90 and in the early stages, Modra was able to keep in touch at 2-2, from there Littler spurted towards the finish line, winning the last four legs unanswered to bag a 6-2 triumph on his Australian debut for the PDC.
Joining Littler and the already qualified quartet of Dimitri van den Bergh, Gerwyn Price, Michael Smith and Luke Humphries, is Peter Wright. With the two-time world champion taking on the most well known of the Australian competitors in Simon Whitlock, 'Snakebite' powered early to put clear distance between himself and the 'Wizard'.
Although Whitlock managed to get a leg on the board at 4-1 down, the Australian couldn't build up momentum for a comeback as Wright, averaging over 95, pinned the double first in the next two legs to secure a relatively simple 6-1 win and a spot in the last eight in Wollongong.
