Luke Littler made Mike de Decker pay at the 2024
Players Championship Finals with the Belgian not reaching top gear and missing doubles and being well beaten 10-3.
Littler now heads into the semi-finals of the Players Championship Finals and also one away from a potential clash with Luke Humphries if both get that far. 'The Nuke' hit three bull finishes including a 124 to seal the deal. He averaged 103.7 in his victory and now has a wait until tonight's semi-finals.
After last week's Grand Slam of Darts triumph, he could yet add another ranking major before the big one at the Alexandra Palace in a few weeks time where he is big favourite. But others will be looking to stop him as he is making it all look too easy right now.
De Decker started slowly and was duly punished. He hit just 50% on the doubles as Littler surged ahead into a 4-1 lead at the first interval. The Belgian's average sat at a paltry 89 at the early exchanges.
On return, it was a 129 checkout from Littler with an exceptional bull outshot as he made it 5-1. De Decker finally woke up with a ten-darter to make it 5-2.
But he was heading towards the exit door at the next interval as he registered another leg back but sat at 7-3 down in the race to ten. 15, 20, bull was another superb combo from Littler as he went 8-3 up.
He hit another 180 as the nine-dart dream began and faded again. He left 54 but instead of his preferred route had to pin double 13. He split for six, double 10 to go 9-3 up. He finished in style pinning 124 on the bull for 10-3.
