Luke Littler quietens Barney Army in Amsterdam as Chris Dobey sees off Krcmar at World Series of Darts Finals 2024

Raymond van Barneveld failed to pull off the upset in front of his own crowd against Luke Littler at the 2024 World Series of Darts Finals. In a packed AFAS Live in Amsterdam, Littler once again defeated his childhood idol, this time by a score of 6-4.

With an average of 99.56 and a finish percentage of 67 percent, Van Barneveld certainly did not play bad, but scoring-wise Littler was just a little better. After Van Barneveld won the first leg, Littler strung together three legs with two 14-darters and a 13-darter.

Littler then missed four chances to make it 4-1 before Van Barneveld connected with a 16-darter to make it 3-2. The Dutchman also could not take advantage when Littler was not out in five visits in the sixth leg. Barney narrowed the gap to 4-3 with a 68 finish. In the eighth leg, Littler was again not out in five visits, but again Van Barneveld was too far behind to take advantage of it. Littler hit the double 5 for a 16-darter to make it 5-3. Van Barneveld pressed on once more with a 14-darter, but then Littler ended the match in fine fashion with a 12-darter.

Chris Dobey advanced to the last eight at the World Series of Darts Finals at the expense of Boris Krcmar. After a high-stakes match, the former Masters champion managed to win 6-4.

The first tap was dealt by Krcmar, who managed to throw a 12-darter into his English opponent's leg. However, the Croatian was not out for five visits after that, allowing Dobey to score with a 13-darter for a rebreak. Dobey then threw out 152 to keep his own leg, after which Krcmar was able to tie the score again with a 15-darter. The fifth leg of the match was also completed within five visits. With a 14-darter, Krcmar pulled the leg to himself, giving him another break ahead.

Krcmar could not keep his own leg either, however, as Dobey equalized with a 15-darter. The next two legs also went with the darts, before 'Hollywood' made it 5-4 with an 11-darter. Krcmar missed a chance to force a final leg, after which Dobey secured victory with a 98 finish.
