Luke Littler’s remarkable rise reached new heights — quite literally — as his image was projected onto Auckland’s iconic Sky Tower ahead of the 2025 New Zealand Darts Masters. The striking display on the 328-metre landmark served as a clear statement of both his individual stardom and the PDC’s continued global expansion.
While the 18-year-old has become a familiar face to darts fans across the UK and Europe, his presence lighting up one of the Southern Hemisphere’s most recognisable structures marks a notable moment in the sport’s international growth. As part of the World Series’ wider aim to bring elite darts to new audiences, the projection was more than promotional — it was symbolic of Littler’s role as the figurehead of a new era.
He justified the fanfare on stage, too. Littler cruised to an 8–4 win over Luke Humphries in the Auckland final, averaging a staggering 115.02 in one of the most complete televised displays of his career. It followed his victory in Wollongong a week earlier, where he beat Mike De Decker by the same scoreline.
Remarkably, these were his first two World Series titles of 2025, having won in Bahrain and Poland during his debut season last year. Given his dominance elsewhere — lifting the World Matchplay title in July with an 18–13 win over James Wade — it’s clear Littler has added consistency to the explosive talent that first turned heads barely 18 months ago.
That Matchplay win completed the coveted 'Triple Crown' (World Championship, Premier League, Matchplay), a feat achieved previously by only Phil Taylor, Michael van Gerwen, Gary Anderson, and Luke Humphries.

The projection on the Sky Tower — situated at the heart of Auckland’s city centre — felt apt. Littler has quickly become the most marketable name in darts, and the PDC is leaning into it. For all the sporting achievements, his visibility off the oche is just as telling of his impact.
The World Series concludes next month with the Finals in Amsterdam, where Littler returns as defending champion after dispatching Michael Smith 11–4 last year. Judging by current form — and profile — he’ll take some stopping.
