Luke Littler made history earlier this year by becoming the youngest darts world champion ever at just 17 years old. Now, after taking the darts world by storm, 'The Nuke' is set to be named an honorary citizen of his hometown.

During a special ceremony on Monday, the Warrington Borough Council will formally recognize and reward the achievements of the now 18-year-old Littler. Born in Warrington, he moved back to the town when he was six years old and has since become one of its most famous sporting figures.

Since making his PDC Pro Tour debut in 2024, Littler has been unstoppable, collecting an impressive 11 PDC titles. His achievements include victories in the Premier League Darts, Grand Slam of Darts, and World Series of Darts Finals. Most notably, he clinched the World Championship, defeating Michael van Gerwen 7-3 in the final.

The official nomination from Warrington Council details Littler’s career from its earliest stages, noting that he first picked up a dart at just 18 months old and later joined the St Helens Darts Academy at the age of eight.

Littler’s success has been widely celebrated in his hometown. Earlier this month, rugby league club Warrington Wolves announced that they would rename their stadium in his honor for the opening match of the Super League season.
