Michael Smith will continue his quest for yet another title and back-to-back triumphs in the
World Series of Darts this season after seeing off
Fallon Sherrock 10-6 at the
Nordic Darts Masters.
Smith was pushed by 'The Queen of the Palace' who was better than prior performances over the past two weeks on the World Series going 3-0 up to start the tie with a 95 checkout on the bullseye.
But 'Bully Boy' came back with Sherrock missing the big 20 on a 90 checkout and Smith broke to trail 3-1. At the interval, that gap was almost closed as one missed dart at double 20 saw Smith hold to make it 3-2.
On return, Smith rattled ahead with four legs on the spin including a 121 checkout on the bull as he went 4-3 up. Sherrock squared up at 4-4 and they continued to exchange parity.
Until Sherrock squandered four darts at double and Smith replied on double five to go 8-6 in front with a break and this proved the turning point as Smith went 9-6 up before sealing the deal and he will now face Dimitri van den Bergh later.
