'Match practice' earns Luke Littler £30,000: ''Proved I can play with the best"

It has been a month since Luke Littler sensationally reached the final of the World Darts Championship. It subsequently opened new doors for the now 17-year-old wonderkid.

A day after the World Darts Championship, it was announced that Littler was allowed to compete in the Premier League Darts, and he also received invitations to the World Series tournaments in Bahrain and Den Bosch.

'The Nuke' managed to win the tournament in Bahrain, while Littler lost to Michael van Gerwen in the final of the Dutch Darts Masters. These two performances earned him 30,000 pounds in prize money.

Littler also impressed with a nine-darter at the Bahrain Darts Masters. ''It was good to win on my debut (in Bahrain) and obviously be the youngest person to hit a nine-darter as well. But overall it was just match practice for the Premier League, as was Holland,'' Littler said in conversation with news agency PA.

Meanwhile, Littler got his start in the Premier League Darts. At the first round of play in Cardiff, the Englishman made it to the semifinals. ''Now we are kicking on with the Premier League. I know I have got the ability to beat the best. I am just happy with how I have been playing," he added: "The worlds was a big step up but I have proved I can play with the best and that is why I have got my shot in the Premier League."
