The first weekend of PDC Challenge Tour action has concluded with Jim McEwan sealing a second career title on the secondary tour.
McEwan was successful last season on the Challenge Tour and has had early success this time around in Milton Keynes.
Seeing off Colin Osborne (5-3), Steven Noster (5-0) and Darren Penhall (5-1), it was a whitewash in the final as he breezed past Stephen Burton having hit back-to-back 97 average.
He joins Stu Wilson, Steve Haggerty and Scott Williams as the victors on the opening weekend.
The Challenge Tour circuit is open to players who have participated in the Q-School, but have not won a Tour Card. On this tour players can earn reserve spots for the Pro Tour 2022 and Tour Cards for 2023 and 2024. The highest ranked players on the PDC Challenge Tour Order of Merit fill up the available spots on the Players Championship events.
