Michael Smith reached the final of night six in
Premier League Darts after seeing off
Luke Littler 6-3. The teenager was uncharacteristically profligate on the outer ring, with just a 20% success rate for the World Championship finalist.
Smith raced into a 3-0 lead that included an exhibition style 120 after hitting a 60 then accidentally firing a dart into the tops bed before eventually mopping up double 10. Littler did well to reduce the arrears to just one with back to back legs, but then missed two darts to level things up. Smith hit D10 to increase his lead back to two.
The crucial moment came in leg seven when 'The Nuke' had a chance to stop Smith from going within one of victory, but agonisingly missed the bull on a 170. It was always going to be an uphill task after that, but Littler can still be pleased with his night's work as he continues to cement a spot in the top four on 11 points.
One more hold was enough to see Smith through to his second final of the 2024 Premier League, where he will play Luke Humphries, who has been in red-hot form in Brighton this evening.
