Luke Humphries threw an explosive 113.71 average, his highest in a televised match, to reach the final of
Premier League Darts night six in Brighton with a 6-3 victory over
Rob Cross. 'Voltage' himself had an average of 108.
Humphries carried on where he left off from his brilliant 6-2 quarter-final win against Gerwyn Price, opening up with a 13-darter before knocking in an 11 and a 130 checkout to go 3-1 up and break throw.
Cross did manage to claw back by taking the next two which included a crucial 86 on the bull. 'Voltage' had averaged 97 in a 6-2 win against an underperforming Michael van Gerwen earlier on in the night.
However, 'Cool Hand' held and then attacked the Cross throw with another 11-darter, before winning the high-quality affair with a classy 87 in two. Humphries will face either Luke Littler or Michael Smith in the final of night six, his second overall in this edition's Premier League.
