Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price snare alleged darts fan and refuse autographs

Regularly, top darters make a darts fan happy by putting their autograph on a photo or shirt, but last weekend Michael van Gerwen and Gerwyn Price ran into someone with less-than-perfect intentions.
Footage shows Van Gerwen and Price refused to sign autographs on a photo. That, however, did not appear to be without reason. ''I know what you do with them,'' Van Gerwen responded.

Presumably "Mighty Mike" was referring to the many photos with autographs appearing on sales sites such as Ebay. Van Gerwen, by the way, did sign a photo of another darts fan. She handed over a photo that showed her and Van Gerwen together.
According to Price, the footage was taken with a hidden camera. The Welshman commented via Instagram.

"I'm so happy this has been posted," he wrote in an Instagram story. "These people are the reason we don't sign things and are the people that spoil it for the real darts fans.
"What you don't see is hands and bags full of merchandise. . .and also this guy is filming from a pair of glasses unknown to the players. Goes to show what sort of people are out there."

Recently, Damon Heta and Luke Littler already warned their fans about merchandise with fake autographs circulating. Fans were urged to buy only attributes with a certificate of authenticity.
