Michael van Gerwen can further cement special record at Grand Slam of Darts this year

Michael van Gerwen will compete in the Grand Slam of Darts for the 16th time in his career starting Saturday. In his first three appearances, "Mighty Mike" did not get past the group stage.

Since 2011, however, Van Gerwen always managed to reach at least the last sixteen. In 2015, 2016 and 2017, the 34-year-old Dutchman was the best at the prestigious event in Wolverhampton.
