Michael van Gerwen takes over lead from Luke Littler on World Series Order of Merit

Michael van Gerwen's final victory at the Dutch Darts Masters also made him the new leader on the World Series Order of Merit. 'Mighty Mike' won 8-6 over Luke Littler in the final of the World Series tournament in Den Bosch on Saturday night.

Both players are now on 20 points, after Littler won over Van Gerwen just a week earlier in the final of the Bahrain Darts Masters. Since Van Gerwen won the most recent tournament, he tops the rankings.

Gerwyn Price is the number three by some distance with ten points. 'The Iceman' stranded twice in the semifinals against Littler. Behind them follow Luke Humphries and Michael Smith with six points each. Gian van Veen holds sixth place with five points, after making it to the semifinals at the Dutch Darts Masters.

Peter Wright, Nathan Aspinall and Rob Cross are on four points after two World Series tournaments. Danny Noppert, Raymond van Barneveld and Kevin Doets managed to pick up three points in Den Bosch.
