Michael van Gerwen will not play after all at the Premier League Darts in Berlin on Thursday night in one of the top ties against Gerwyn Price which has now been cancelled.
Van Gerwen is out of Night Eight due to a shoulder injury. He has previous success at the Uber Arena winning the 2022 play-offs and last year's league night.
However the shoulder injury means he has had to withdraw from proceedings. His scheduled Quarter-Final opponent Gerwyn Price receives a bye through to the semi-finals under tournament rules.
This means he takes through two points and +1 leg difference while Van Gerwen gets zero and -6 from the night. It is unknown yet whether he plans to still play in Riesa this weekend.
