Mike De Decker has a new equipment sponsor. After Bull's Darts announced that its partnership with the 29-year-old Belgian had been terminated, football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Mission Darts' signing of the World Grand Prix champion.
De Decker had been associated with the German company Bull's Darts for several years. 'The Real Deal' finally broke through last year by winning the World Grand Prix. In the final of this tournament, he defeated Luke Humphries 6-4. De Decker has climbed to 24th place in the world rankings. Because of his major title, it was widely expected that De Decker would receive an invitation to participate in the Premier League Darts. But in the end, the PDC chose eight other players, much to De Decker's disappointment.
So now De Decker says goodbye to Bull's Darts, which thanked the Belgian on social media for services rendered. "Today we say goodbye to Mike de Decker after many great years together. Thank you for everything, Mike! Wishing you all the best for the future," Bulls Darts announced on Instagram.
As mentioned, we didn't have to wait long to find out where De Decker had signed, with Fabrizio Romano confirming the move with one of his trademark 'Here we go!' videos posted on Mission Darts' official social media channels.
“Mission is a company on the rise. They have good ideas and they're growing," says De Decker in a press release to his new manufacturer's official website. "It was a combination of things that made up my mind to join Mission. They've made a really good dart for me and they have been really supportive. I think it will be a really good partnership."
Darryl Fitton, Mission’s player development manager, added: “I have followed Mike’s progress since the BDO days and been impressed with his ability and his presence on and off the oche. I am so pleased Mike has agreed to join us. This is a great signing for Mission Darts.”
