In his opening two matches at Players Championship 2 yesterday in Wigan,
Adam Hunt registered 100+
averages in a ranking event for the first time in almost three years.
His first 100+ average in 75 matches came against Matt Campbell in the first round, winning 6-0 with a 102.48 average while Campbell averaged 83.04.
But, not only did he reach the milestone once, he backed it up straight away in his second round match, again in a whitewash win. This time it was against Andrew Gilding who averaged 79.45, while Hunt averaged 101.33.
Although Hunt was knocked out in the third round by Ryan Searle, who made his second consecutive ProTour final in two days, the event showed particularly promising signs for Hunt's game going forward.
Hitting back-to-back 100 averages was the first time Hunt has managed the feat in his career and if he can find some consistency going forward, he will be a real threat in the ProTour this year.
Hunt is next in action in the EuroTour qualifiers this afternoon.
