Scott Mitchell claimed a Tour Card at the turn of the year completing his switch to the PDC.
Of course the questions always are whether or not he regrets the late switch from the BDO to the PDC and he said in hindsight, he would say he does.
"It's easy to say that now possibly I do. But everything happens for a reason and I think maybe I wasn't ready before or the situation wasn't right. It was probably enforced on me this time around but it's worked," he said to Online Darts.
"I'm enjoying it and I get a little bit more time home. It's working for me at the minute."
Work-life balance
But still for 'Scotty Dog', the farm is still a big part of his life and one that sees him struggle to find a work life balance he admits.
"This time of year, it's very difficult for me to find practice time. We're so busy at the farm. I've found that side of it hard but when I get into that situation, autopilot kicks in and I'm still winning games so I can't wait till I can get the time to do some practice towards September/October."
Missing World Matchplay
He just missed out on the World Matchplay on his debut year and he said it's something he was looking at but now all eyes go onto the World Championship.
"I'd be lying if I said I wasn't of course I was, I'd have loved to have been at the Matchplay but then seeing the heat there, I was kind of pleased that I wasn't. I might have had a few slippery problems but that's something else we're working on and we'll try to get that sorted for Ally Pally if we can qualify."
"It would mean the world to me having played in both World Championships at two great iconic venues. I would never have dreamed that when I started throwing a dart so yeah it would mean a lot to me to play at Ally Pally."
