'The Heat' started the tournament with a victory over James Wade. Subsequently, the 34-year-old darter proved unbeatable for Gary Anderson and Simon Whitlock.
In the final of the Brisbane Darts Masters, Heta faced Rob Cross, the defending champion. Cross took a break lead twice but couldn't take advantage in the final leg 7-7 allowing Heta to claim a remarkable victory.
