Paul Nicholson on his return to action finished second with his tally seeing defeats either side of wins meaning three wins and two defeats with a good run during the middle of the day which saw wins over Andy Jenkins (5-2), John Brown (5-1) and Mark Webster (5-2).

Webster himself finished third on leg difference after losing his unbeaten run with two defeats to end the day. Similar occurred for Andy Jenkins who led at the halfway stage as he suffered three defeats in a row.

There will be 15 games a day which will be best of 7 legs with two Pools set to be involved as usual. It begins everyday as a result at 10:30 am running till 5:00 pm and sees live action continue.
