A block-buster Quarter-Final is set at the German Darts Open, with Josh Rock set to face Dirk van Duijvenbode later this evening in Riesa after two superb ties.
Rock was near perfect as he took down Ryan Searle. In a literal sense as he went seven darts into a nine-dart finish coming from 3-2 down to level up.
It was a 98 average and five 180s in the end for Rock in another polished display. After making it 3-3, it was a game of cat and mouse as they both exchanged the lead with Rock sealing it first with a 79 checkout at 5-4, but Searle sent it all the way. Another maximum though at a pivotal time saw Rock move through.
Where he will face Van Duijvenbode who saw off Jose de Sousa 6-3 in a dominant display with a 98 average, 46.2% on the doubles, and two maximums as 'The Titan' denied 'The Special One'.
Van Duijvenbode quickly grabbed a break lead after a 15-darter in the third leg and then held throw with a 16-darter. However, De Sousa was able to undo that break deficit and came back to 3-3 with a 17-darter and a 57 finish.
The Portuguese could not enjoy the leveler for long, as Van Duijvenbode broke him again in the seventh leg. The Dutchman cashed in on the break with a 14-darter and then put in a 13-darter to seal the deal 6-3.
