Lee Evans is confident he can beat the best darters in the world after gaining himself entry to the lucrative Pro Tour circuit in January.
Evans was one of the new Tour Card winners at the UK Q-School in Milton Keynes early this year. During the final stage of the event, he finished second on the Q-School Order of Merit, more than enough for a Tour Card.
“As long as there’s nothing stopping me, I’ll be going to every event I can,” he said as per
This is Oxfordshire.
“The UK Open is one I’m looking forward to again as it’s the only major I’ve played in and it’s been a few years since I’ve been there.
“Some mates have asked me in the past to go to the World Championships with them and I’ve always said I’m not going until I play there.
“Reaching the Worlds or winning a major is always what you want but I’m just hoping to go up there and win, and get into the big events.
“Qualifying school is tough, there were a lot of top players who didn’t really pick up any points but I know on my day I can beat anyone and I hope I can bring that into playing the likes of van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price and Peter Wright.
“I’ve played most of them before and beat some of them before, so there’s no reason why I can’t again.”
