Nick Kenny has certainly added his name to Ally Pally folklore this tournament with some conclusion to his tie against Stowe Buntz with an emphatic 3-0 win at the PDC World Darts Championship.
The Welshman produced an incredible 170 checkout to seal the win that he didn't need to go for and he even was in two minds by the look on his face whether to go for it. But it capped off an emphatic display as his family and friends were seen in the background going wild.

He sets up a showdown with Raymond van Barneveld and with Luke Humphries expecting to face the doyen of Dutch darts, Kenny could fan those flames and pour cold water over that clash.
He certainly dented the desire of Buntz who would've perhaps been the favourite going into the tie given his previous TV excellence as he surged through the opening set 3-1 with 50% on the doubles to open up the first set.
The second was more on Buntz to throw away as he squandered three set darts in the deciding leg and Kenny eventually found double 14 to jump all over the chance and go 2-0 up.
It was all about combo finishing for Kenny as he produced a 64 checkout to go 1-0 up. He then added to that with an 80 outshot using double five last dart after initially hitting the treble 20. Buntz held but his delight wouldn't last long.
Kenny like alluded to shut the door and sealed a superb win. Watch out Barney as Kenny is coming. Solid on the outer ring and producing a display that he will be proud of, Van Barneveld will be buoyed by a tie against Humphries and is a man for the big occasion but could yet come unstuck. Like he proved with Buntz tonight, this could be Kenny's gain.
