Nijman wins Icons of Darts League Group Two maintaining unbeaten record, Evans edges past Nicholson in final game

Nijman came into the Icons of Darts Live League among the bigger names as an outsider but he has shunned that by winning all eight games so far in the competition.

He saw off Jenkins who had a superb first day in replacing Mark Webster and will also be a player to watch throughout the week in a 5-2 victory.

In doing so, he hit a 95 average with three 180's and a high checkout of 121 with 62 percent on the doubles in a polished performance to conclude his series.

David Evans also continued his good form bouncing back from two defeats to the top two (Nijman and Jenkins) to end his competition with two closely fought wins over Raymond van Barneveld and Paul Nicholson.

Nicholson could have had it sown up but it was a game of missed doubles especially in the back end of the tie. Evans himself squandered five at doubles allowing Nicholson to go one away but this didn't matter as Nicholson himself missed two match darts allowing a decider which 'Stretch' claimed.
