Van Barneveld remains winless after defeats to Jenkins and Evans, Nijman claims seventh consecutive win after victory over Nicholson

Wessel Nijman is the first as he continues to impress. The young Dutchman claimed his seventh win on the bounce over the two days of the Icons of Darts Live League as he saw off Paul Nicholson 5-1.

This included a 99 average as well as 5/8 on the doubles as he looks to make it two days won from two as he faces Andy Jenkins next who is his final opponent of the day and the only player who can deny him as he is unbeaten on his first day of action.

So in essence the duo will face off shortly for the title on the second day. One player who won't be though is Raymond van Barneveld who remains winless in the whole competitions.

This is through losses to Jenkins comprehensively 5-1 despite averaging three points more than his opponent and then losing out to David Evans after being on the cusp of a first victory at 4-2 up. He lost out though 5-4 and will hope his fortunes change if he is part of the line-up tomorrow.
