It is still a few months until the PDC World Darts Championship starts. But the PDC has now already announced that nine Asian players will be able to qualify later this year.
Details on qualification have been confirmed ahead of the next weekend of action on the PDC Asian Tour in Mongolia. In addition to the PDC Asian Tour, the PDC Asian Championship will also be organised for the second year in a row.
The top four players on the PDC Asian Tour Order of Merit automatically qualify for the World Championship. The winner of the PDC Asian Championship and the runner-up also get to make an appearance on the famed Alexandra Palace stage. If one or both players have already qualified via the PDC Asian Tour Order of Merit, the place will be passed on to the next non-qualified player from the PDC Asian Championship.
In addition, the best-placed non-qualified Japanese player from the PDC Asian Championship (if no Japanese player reaches the final) will also qualify for the World Championship.
The final two places will be taken by the winner of the PDC China Premier League to be held from June-August, and the winner of an Indian qualifying tournament to be held later this year.
Looks like Paul Lim is having a fantastic time in Mongolia ahead of the Mongolian Open and the PDC Asian Tour this weekend!
