Nitin Kumar will represent India for the third time at the World Cup of Darts after winning three qualifying tournaments in Kolkata this weekend.
Kumar, who previously competed for his country in 2014 and 2015, forms a team with debutant Mohan Kumar Goel this year. The latter managed to reach the final in two of the three qualifying tournaments, securing his spot alongside Kumar.
New Zealand's team composition is also now known. Mark Cleaver will compete alongside the country's number one Haupai Puha in Frankfurt. Cleaver secured his World Cup debut by achieving the highest position on the DPNZ Order of Merit, a 12-month ranking. He won four DPNZ titles during that period, staying ahead of Ben Robb, Puha's former teammate.
More duos will be announced next weekend. Events 13 through 16 are scheduled during the PDC Asian Tour, which takes place May 2 through 4 in Kuala Lumpur. Afterwards, the top two players from the Philippines, Japan and Hong Kong will form their country teams. In addition, three more countries will qualify through a special qualifying tournament on Sunday.
