Noppert-Gilding and Jansen-Chisnall set for Players Championship 9 semi-finals

Only two players remain in the field with prior PDC titles at Players Championship 9 with the semi-finals confirmed in Barnsley.

Those are Danny Noppert who holds a solitary Players Championship and a major in this year's UK Open and Dave Chisnall who will look towards his first ProTour since 2019.

Noppert dumped out Michael van Gerwen to devastating effect winning with ease 6-2 with a 103 average, while Chisnall ended the run of Mario Vandenbogaerde.

Up against them though in the case of Noppert is Andrew Gilding who is a former UK Open semi-finalist who has rejoined the tour this year to a superb start with his quality form rewarded with a run today. He saw off Jose de Sousa with a 104.90 average in a 6-3 win.

While the other player set to face Chisnall is another impressive Tour Card winner from the class of 2022 but at the start of his career in Danny Jansen.

He has courted the headlines not only for his quality darts but also his mullet which has been dubbed by some as the best hair in darts. Will he be the best on the day and seal his first PDC title shortly?
