Noppert impressive in victory over Payne, Hunt edges past Brown

The evening session at the German Darts Championship has began with Danny Noppert and Adam Hunt through to the second round in Hildesheim.

Noppert began proceedings with a 6-2 victory over Josh Payne averaging 102 in the process in an important weekend for the Dutchman in terms of furthering his World Cup of Darts ambitions.

As well as four 180's, it was also nearly 50% on the doubles from 'Noppie' with Payne himself not playing badly with three 180's but Noppert hitting 10 140's to his 4 proved the difference.

Hunt on the other hand edged past Steve Brown who was returning to the European Tour after a long absence in a 6-3 win. He hit also four 180's and has 11th seed Joe Cullen next up.
