The first round is complete at the World Series of Darts Finals with Danny Noppert and Ricky Evans finally moving into Saturday's action in Amsterdam.
Noppert has produced the performance of the tournament so far seeing off Dirk van Duijvenbode in a 6-4 win. He averaged 105.5 with 75% on the doubles with a superb battle.
Noppert recorded an average of 105, compared to 103 for Van Duijvenbode. After three legs the score was 2-1 for Noppert, followed by no fewer than four breaks in a row.
Van Duijvenbode then made it 4-4 with a 77 finish. Noppert then held with a 16-darter. Van Duijvenbode then had one chance at 5-5, but did not take it. Noppert then secured the win with a 14-darter.
Noppert will face Nathan Aspinall in the second round of this tournament. Finally, Ricky Evans also managed to qualify for the last sixteen. He defeated Damon Heta 6-5.
The tournament will be broadcast in its entirety by ITV. It is shown on ITV3 on Friday but will be on Saturday and Sunday on ITV4. Friday's action starts at 5:45 BST.
The prize pool for this event contains a total of 300,000 pounds. However, the prize money won does not count toward the PDC Order of Merit or other money rankings.
All participants are guaranteed £5,000 in prize money. This amount could eventually rise to a sum of £70,000 in prize money for the winner.
The World Series tournaments are international events of the PDC organized to promote the sport beyond the (Western) European borders.
Earlier this year, tournaments also took place in Bahrain, Denmark, the United States, Poland, New Zealand and Australia. Past World Series tournaments have also been scheduled in Dubai, Singapore, Japan, Scotland, China, Germany and Austria.
