The European and UK Q-Schools for 2025 were finished last weekend in Kalkar, Germany, and Milton Keynes, England, respectively. Players from all over the world hunted for the 29 available PDC Tour Cards for 2025 and 2026. That produced scenes of joy, but also many disappointments.
Players who lost their PDC Tour Card at the conclusion of the past World Darts Championship were allowed to compete immediately in the Final Stage. Remarkably, only three of these players managed to regain their Tour Card immediately. These were Karel Sedlacek and Maik Kuivenhoven at the European Q-School and Adam Warner at the UK Q-School.
These three players had to wait until the last day to get their Tour Card. The 36-year-old Dutchman Kuivenhoven did so in style by defeating Croatian Pero Ljubic 6-3 in the final. Sedlacek and Warner recaptured their Tour Card via the Q-School Order of Merit.
Many familiar names dropped out this past week. Thus, we will not see players who have been consistently active on the Pro Tour in recent years such as Mervyn King, Jeffrey de Zwaan, Simon Whitlock, Boris Krcmar and Rowby-John Rodriguez back on the PDC circuit this year.

33 players lost their TC, 26 played Q-School, only 3 made it back to the Pro Tour.
Newly relegated Tour Card holders made up 26/256 of the Q School Final Stage field: 10.16%. They won 3/29 of the Tour Cards on offer: 10.34%. This suggest that the 'worst of the best' are of a similar standard to the 'best of the rest' which is notable but surely unsurprising.
