The German Darts Grand Prix returns to Sindelfingen from 17 to 19 April, with the Glaspalast once again hosting one of the most established events on the European Tour calendar. The venue, originally designed for athletics and football, has become a familiar and distinctive stop for darts in recent years.
Gary Anderson heads back to a stage where he has dominated. The Scot won the title in both 2024 and 2025, first edging out Ross Smith 8-6 before cruising past Andrew Gilding 8-0 a year later. Two of his three European Tour titles have come in Sindelfingen, with his only other win dating back to 2014.
Anderson arrives unbeaten in Baden-Wurttemberg across ten matches and with a clear target. He wants to secure a European Tour title early in the season, allowing him to scale back his schedule later while still qualifying for the European Championship in Dortmund.
Only two major names are missing from the field: Luke Littler and Luke Humphries. Littler’s absence is expected, as he continues to skip European Tour events in Germany. Humphries, who lost to Michael Smith in the last 16 here last year, has already built a strong buffer in the European Order of Merit following his win in Wieze and is likely to be selective with his appearances during the Premier League period.
Their withdrawals open the door for others. Mike De Decker moves into the field via his world ranking and will start directly in the second round, while Kevin Doets avoids the need to come through qualification.
There will be at least six German players involved. Martin Schindler leads the home contingent as the number 14 seed and will enter on Saturday. Niko Springer, Paul Krohne, Michael Unterbuchner, Michael Hurtz and Robin Masur are all set to begin their campaigns on Friday.
A further ten places are still up for grabs through the Tour Card Holder Qualifier, meaning more German names could yet be added. Fan favourites such as Ricky Evans and Peter Wright may also still appear in Sindelfingen.
Despite the absence of the world number one and two, the German Darts Grand Prix once again boasts a deep and competitive field.
