Gerwyn Price has hit out at the playing conditions in Berlin after his
Premier League Darts run ended in defeat to
Luke Littler on Thursday night.
Price had looked in strong form earlier in the evening, producing a 101.56 average in a dominant quarter-final win over Gian van Veen. But despite another solid display in the semi-finals, he was beaten 6-4 by Littler, who fired in a 108.58 average to take control of the contest.
Taking to Instagram shortly after the match, Price made his frustrations clear, pointing to the conditions as a major factor. “So bloody frustrating. Luke’s playing really well at the moment, but to have to play in such shocking conditions it’s so bloody hard. But nothing’s ever done…”
The Welshman’s comments suggest a broader issue rather than a one-off complaint, with his remark that “nothing’s ever done” hinting at ongoing concerns among players.
Price still competitive despite frustration
Despite the defeat, Price’s performance levels remained high throughout the night. His 101.56 average in the quarter-finals was followed by a 98.17 showing against Littler, underlining that he was far from off his game.
However, the fine margins at the top level were evident, with Littler continuing his dominant Premier League campaign. The teenager went on to win the night, beating Michael van Gerwen 6-4 in the final, and further strengthening his position at the top of the table.

“Maybe it’d be easier to play on the beach”
Price’s frustration did not stop at a general complaint, with the Welshman also questioning the consistency of conditions across venues in a more pointed remark. “Maybe it’d be easier to play on the beach front outdoors every week so we know what to expect…”
He ended his message by thanking the Berlin crowd for their support before turning his attention to the next night. “Thanks all for the amazing support once again, you really are amazing. Onto next week it is.”
