The PDC has announced most of its
calendar for 2022. From January to October, tournaments are scheduled on more than 150 different days.
The season is traditionally kicked off with the
Q-School. This is scheduled from January 9-15 in Niedernhausen for the European players, while the British players will then play in Milton Keynes. Players from other continents can choose which version they want to take part in.
Thirty Players Championship tournaments will be held again in 2022, while the split circuits of the Development Tour and Challenge Tour have been reunited. These circuits consist of 24 tournaments each and are therefore no longer held separately for players from the UK and the rest of the world. The PDC Women's Series, where ladies can earn spots for some televised tournaments, has been expanded to 20 tournaments.
After shortened versions in 2019 and 2020, the PDC intends to return to a full
European Tour circuit in 2022. Thirteen Euro Tour tournaments are currently scheduled, including one in the Netherlands (Zwolle) and Belgium (Wieze). Seven Euro Tour tournaments take place in Germany, while Hungary, the Czech Republic, Austria and Gibraltar also host one event.
Most television tournaments are also already on the calendar. The first televised tournament of the season is the
Masters, which takes place in Milton Keynes from January 28-30. On February 3 the
Premier League Darts starts, with the final on May 26 in Newcastle.
Also the
UK Open (March 4-6),
World Cup of Darts (June 16-19),
World Matchplay (July 16-24),
World Series of Darts Finals (September 16-18),
World Grand Prix (October 2-8) and the European Darts Championship (October 27-30) are already on the calendar. The PDC will come later with the schedule for November and December, plus the dates of the World Series tournaments.
