PDC Development Tour Order of Merit Update: Title for Jurjen van der Velde moves him into provisional World Championship spot

We are coming to the business end of the darts season, with the Winmau Development Tour now hotting up with only four competitions remaining. Sunday's edition at the Robin Park Leisure Centre in Wigan brought the same drama and unpredictability, with there being Dutch delight in the 20th event of 2025.

With World Championship and tour card spots on offer, it is make or break for these young darters to go deep in these events and earn money which could lead to much bigger things in the future.

Cam Crabtree sits comfortably at the top of the table, leading by almost £2000 over Beau Greaves, as he picked up his fourth title of the year on Saturday to push his tally up to £14,975. Greaves only managed to reach the last 64 stage on Sunday, losing 4-3 to Jarod Becker. She ends the weekend on £13,100. Her previous success does leave her on a precious tour card spot.

Owen Bates remains in third, left a sizeable gap adrift from the leading pack, with £10,075. He is also in line to pick up a tour card for next season. The first movement comes from Dutchman Jurjen van der Velde, who picked up his second Development Tour title of the year to cannon up the ranking from eighth to fourth. The hefty £2,000 he won from the event ascends his earnings to £8,775, leaping above the closely contested pack including Charlie Manby, Sebastian Bialecki, Ryan Branley, and Jamai van der Herik. This has put him in a provisional World Championships spot.

A semi-final for Bialecki was not enough to overtake Manby, who failed to take any money home from the event. He remains on £8,675, with Biakecki breathing down his neck on £8,100. Branley extended his lead over van der Herik by £200, raising his earnings to £6,825, with his Dutch competitor stuck on £6,600.

They will be locking horns in the final events to try to clinch a fabled spot at Ally Pally. With Crabtree and Bates already sealing their slots in the prestigious event later this year and Greaves a good length away, there seem to be two places on offer for whichever lucky darter manages to capitalise on it. The title for van der Welde has put him in that second qualifying position, with Manby taking up the third.

Dominik Gruellich has not played at an event since the Development Tour 16. He remains in the final top 10 spot, with £5,725 to his name. Henry Coates reached his third final of the year, but again could not find a way of coming out on top. The grand he earnt puts him on £5,175. Jack Peet's semi-final run sparked a huge escalation up the rankings. Before the tournament, he was 115th, but he has now more than doubled his yearly sum to ascend to 54th with £1,300.

The next events are on the weekend commencing 21st October, with Development Tour 21 and 22 on the Saturday, closely followed by 23 and 24 on the Sunday.
