The final day of PDC Q-School in Milton Keynes and Kalkar provided us with some shocks, surprises, new Tour Card holders and returning faces.
The big news is that Mervyn King will make his long awaited tour return. He lost in the final match against Charlie Manby but will return to the tour with the UK being a bit of a formality in the end.
While over in Europe, Jeffrey de Zwaan won outright alongside Sietse Lap who denied the big Croatian, Boris Krcmar in a decider meaning we went double Dutch on day seven.

UK Q-School - Manby and King headline

The World Championship sensation, Charlie Manby will be on the PDC Tour next year. 'Champagne' lost in the final game yesterday but he won outright today after a poor opening two days. He defeated a certain Mervyn King in the final.
King had last year on the Challenge Tour and made it to the PDC World Darts Championship but has shown that he still has the game as he will make his return to PDC Darts while Manby makes the step up.
Samuel Price was the other player to seal his Tour Card. Price was a top up player who wasn't even meant to be in the Final Stage but took his chance and is now on the tour. He saw off Lewis Pride in the final 6-5.
Other Tour Cards handed out through the Order of Merit saw Stephen Burton who has been the most consistent player without winning outright and it was almost a formality today but he kept winning and got to 14 points to seal his immediate return. While we otherwise got new stars to join the tour from the UK.
Tyler Thorpe who works in a darts shop dusted himself down after Day One final game disappointment as he lost to King but reached the Quarter-Finals. Stephen Rosney who appeared at Lakeside joins McGuirk and Culleton and although Steve Lennon missed out, a glut of Irishman will join the ranks of Barry and O'Connor next season.
David Sharp also known as 'Razor' will also make a step up but this meant that Derek Coulson missed out by 'razor sharp' margins literally by a few legs with his loss to Samuel Price who was a top up player who reached the final game and averaged 102 to beat Coulson being the issue as those legs lost saw him lose out. A big pick for many and he won't be making it onto the tour.

European Q-School - De Zwaan makes return in dramatic conclusion

Jeffrey de Zwaan won his outright and joined Filip Bereza, Arno Merk, Jeffrey Sparidaans, Cristo Reyes, Matthias Ehlers, Yorick Hofkens at the time to do so. But in Kalkar ironically with the more Tour Cards came more drama.
Jimmy van Schie was already assured his spot. He finished on 12 points ahead of Chris Landman who was also assured hours before alongside Marvin Kraft.

The Slovenian Star, Benjamin Pratnemer has long dominated Eastern Europe on the WDF circuit and joins Rosney, Van Schie, McGuirk in leaving WDF for pastures new. Adam Gawlas makes his return to the tour after a year away, while Jurjen van der Velde the young Dutchman is a popular winner.
Alexander Merkx like Van Schie has agonisingly missed out on many occasions and although it was a late one, he managed to leave on nine points. But Andreas Harrysson agonisingly missed out. As a result of Sietse Lap reaching the final and Mika Donnevert not beating De Zwaan, only German policeman Pascal Rupprecht benefited with a tour return and not the Swede.
Albeit it took a long time, Boris Krcmar and Sietse Lap finally faced off and Krcmar missed darts to win it at 6-4 and Lap broke. He started the decider like a train with the Dutchman hitting 140, 125 and despite poor visits likely due to nerves, Krcmar could only hit 26 with a potential shot to win it going begging as he wasn't on a finish. Lap left 40 and hit it to seal the card.
