After the success of the PDC Walk On World Cup, a new competition has been launched called The World Cup of Shirts which searches for the player with the best darts shirt.
A total of 32 players will be in the reckoning for this title with it comprising 27 current players and five darting legends. The participants
Michael van Gerwen,
Phil Taylor and
Peter Wright. As well as Walk On World Cup champion,
Wayne Mardle.
Sixteen ties were made through an open draw and fans can vote for the winner through Twitter. The first eight were completed on Monday afternoon.
Among those who made it through were
Phil Taylor,
Wayne Mardle and
Michael van Gerwen. Taylor saw off Jonny Clayton with over 64 percent of the vote compared to 35.2 percent for the latter. Van Gerwen had an even bigger margin of victory against James Wade winning by 74.9 percent of the vote.
While Wayne Mardle received 65.7 percent of the vote against Gary Anderson keeping the dream alive for two World Cup wins.
