PDC Order of Merit update: Martin Schindler new German number one; small rises for Ritchie Edhouse & Callan Rydz among others

The results at the International Darts Open caused relatively few shifts in the PDC Order of Merit. The European Tour tournament in Riesa was won by Martin Schindler, making him the only player in the top-32 to move up the world rankings.
With his final victory at the International Darts Open, Schindler earned the top prize of 30,000 pounds. As a result, he passed Gary Anderson and Gabriel Clemens in the world rankings, allowing Schindler to call himself number 22 in the world. Moreover, 'The Wall' is now also the highest ranked German.
Elsewhere, there were no changes in the top-32 although just outside the top-32, Luke Woodhouse, Callan Rydz and Kim Huybrechts moved up one place. That was at the expense of Martin Lukeman, who dropped back from 33rd place to 36th. Gian van Veen swapped places with Ryan Joyce, leaving the Dutchman in 38th place.
Ritchie Edhouse has moved up three places after his quarterfinal finish in Riesa. Edhouse now occupies the 53rd spot in the world rankings. Richard Veenstra moved up two positions after reaching the last sixteen, putting him now 60th in the world rankings.

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
