Martin Schindler created scenes of joy amongst the German darts fans in attendance on Sunday night by winning the
International Darts Open in Riesa. For "The Wall," it was his very first PDC title.
The German showed himself the strongest during the final session of the Euro Tour tournament. In his quarterfinal against Danny Noppert (6-5), Schindler survived another matchdart before beating Chris Dobey comfortably 7-3.
At the other end of the draw,
Gerwyn Price was able to deal with Ross Smith (6-5) and Stephen Bunting (7-5). 'The Iceman' was hunting for his fifth title at the International Darts Open and got to a break lead twice, but eventually lost 8-5 to Schindler.
