PDC European Tour Order of Merit after 3/13 tournaments: Martin Schindler takes top just before Luke and Luke

Martin Schindler has launched into top spot on the PDC European Tour Order of Merit after winning the International Darts Open. 'The Wall' won his first career PDC title Sunday by defeating Gerwyn Price in the final.

Winning this title earned Schindler the top prize of 30,000 pounds, bringing his total to 38,500 pounds. That was just enough to pass Luke Humphries (38,000 pounds). Luke Littler is number three with 30,000 pounds. Littler won the Belgian Darts Open, but then missed out on qualification for the following two Euro Tour tournaments. Price moved up to fourth in the rankings after his final place finish in Riesa.

Rob Cross holds the fifth spot, while Danny Noppert is the highest ranked Dutchman in sixth place. Michael van Gerwen is down in 11th, Nathan Aspinall 13th and Peter Wright down in 20th.

After three Euro Tour tournaments, there are four players who participated in all events but do not yet appear on the Euro Tour Order of Merit. Dirk van Duijvenbode, Krzysztof Ratajski, Andrew Gilding and Raymond van Barneveld had automatically qualified for the first three Euro Tours, but all lost their opening matches each time.

At the end of the season, the 32 best players in the rankings will compete in the European Championship in Dortmund. This tournament is scheduled from Oct. 24 to 27.
