PDC World Darts Championship 2020 preview and schedule: Friday December 20, afternoon session

The second round action continues into Friday as the Christmas break approaches at the 2020 PDC World Championship and with shocks aplenty so far, will we see more seeds bow out of the showpiece event.

Darren Webster is first up and as the 20th seed could be the first in danger today on the Alexandra Palace stage. He takes on Yuki Yamada who emerged as a potential surprise package when he defeated Ryan Meikle in the first round, the Japanese ace played well barring a few doubles and will be hoping to arrest that against Webster.

Webster himself hasn't been in great form and finds himself in this position as a result of form last year but had a good run at the Grand Slam of Darts so will take solace from that ahead of a potential big run for the Demolition Man.

Then it is the turn of Mervyn King who is the nineteenth seed in the tournament and he will take on Irishman, Ciaran Teehan. Teehan played well in his first assignment of the tournament claiming a shock win over Ross Smith and he will hope for the same.

King as many know has a tendency to be very hit or miss. This all matters on his back but if he doesn't struggle with that, he could get through with ease against Teehan.

Jonny Clayton is another player who is very hit or miss but faces Jan Dekker who yesterday did what he had to do but wasn't at his best against Ryan Joyce. If 'The Ferret' is on, again expect him to defeat the Dutchman but it will likely be a tie that could go long.

Finally it is a quick fire tie as Ricky Evans faces Mark McGeeney. Evans has had one of the best years of his career so far but at times has not played great on TV and faces a tough assignment in Mark McGeeney who of course has shown his prowess previously on TV in both the BDO and at times in the PDC and after defeating Matt Campbell albeit at the start of the tournament, will have confidence of a run.
