Beaton believes going forward that he needs to stop thinking about it as much and needs to just play his game which he does in the exhibitions.
He spoke also about potential retirement and said that he still loves what he does and that he will only retire when he starts to go on a rankings slide.
"I went in there thinking stay calm but it all goes out the window when you get up there. The crowd get adrenaline buzz and even at 1-1, I thought you've just got to play your game and get on with it. I do that at exhibitions, why I think so much I don't know," said Beaton to LiveDarts.
"The good thing about playing Kyle is that you know you've got a game on. Fortunately he gave me a chance in the last leg and I took it."
"It's my 19th PDC, I did another 10 in the BDO. It's been nearly 30 years now, I just love darts. I'm getting paid for something I enjoy doing. I'm sure people would love to have my job, I love the company."
"I think it's such a good sport at the moment. Especially with all the Women coming through, how long I'll last I don't know."
"I'm not a person to sit around doing nothing anyway. I don't see the point of me retiring what would I do nothing. If I can stay in the top 32 and keep competing than I'll keep going but if I drop out and am struggling, I think it'll be time to hang it up."
