Players Championship 18 into the history books with low number of 100+ averages

Gerwyn Price managed to win the eighteenth Players Championship tournament of the season Sunday by throwing one 100+ average during the tournament.

However, the Welshman was certainly not the only player who was not very productive in terms of throwing 100+ averages. In 127 matches, only eight averages above 100 were thrown.

According to statistics platform The Red Bit, it has not been since the introduction of DartConnect - which allows all kinds of statistics to be tracked - that so few 100+ averages were thrown during a Players Championship tournament. The old record stood at 12, recorded during Players Championship 13 earlier this year.
